“We have been using the high performance rougher/finishers in several slotting applications. When tested against Niagra carbide roughers and Walter high performance endmills, the PTG cutters did as well, or out performed both. We saw consistent results from every PTG tool even in deep slots with poor chip evacuation. Excellent results at half the price per tool. Running parameters for 3/8 dia. rougher/finisher on 4140 annealed: 275 SFM, .006 IPR, .415 doc, 1.658 total slot depth 2.5” long.

I had PTG make some 3/8 dia. high performance finishers with 1-5/8 flute length to finish the same slots. After running out of parts and cutting 440 slots, we have not fully used 1 tool!

PTG’s regrind and recoat service is the best I have come across. Every tool I receive back from PTG performs as well as it did when it was new. Service and quality is always great.”
